New life! [18 Aug 2008|07:52pm]
Starting today I began a new job. It is my first proper "adult" job if you will (though I worked with adults at all my other jobs, too.) I suppose I should say "professional" versus "adult", but it just feels much more grown up. I am working with the State of GA. I busted my ass at Publix for almost 3 months this time. This is a MAJOR upgrade and the best salary I have ever made in my life. (Well, actually, the first "salaried" position I've ever had, too, so I am excited about that.) The two only major downsides are: I am working for the State of GEORGIA (the location being the issue) and...it's NOT architecture-related at all. That being said, it is a good job that I think I can help some ppl in during my time here.
I hadn't updated in a while because the time I wasn't working day or night at Publix, I was enjoyin my latest addiction, Star Wars Galaxies, and when I wasn't doing that, I have been exercising more often.
With my new job comes a change of lifestyle, I suppose and schedule definitely. I have worked out a schedule where I wake up at 4:30am to get up and do exercise for an hour before work. I also come home and exercise another hour after work. Weekends I will go to my Dad's house and even to...CHURCH (shocking from me, I know. It is a Universalist Church I have been wanting to check out for a while, so I will see how it fits me :) I am trying to make it a routine I can stick to because I am determined to take the most advantage of my time here in GA. I know I definitely do not want to stay here, so my plan is to work off my debt asap and while I am doing that, get in shape so that I can move to the state where I plan to study next to establish residency a year before I return to college and maintain my ideal weight for about a year (which I hear is the hardest hurdle once you've lost it). Ultimately, I plan to return to college (for film) in about two years so that by around 2012 I can be beginning my career as such :) (doing production design ideally). When I return to college, I want to be a clean slate. New body, no debt, and ready to go for part two! :) That's what this time here allows me to prepare for. At the same time, I have gotten over being sorry for myself that I am stuck here. I am not stuck here. I am here by choice because this is the best way I can pay off the debt that I incurred in the first place. So, while I am here, I am going to try to make the best of it and enjoy my time here instead of it just being the in-between time that I need to get through even though I know it largely feels that way to me.
Since my new job is about 40 minutes away with no traffic one-way, I knew my little Saturn station wagon that I loved so much would not make it every day...so, as of yesterday...I HAVE A NEW CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!! Granted, it is used, but it is new to me, and most important of all.........................it is a...............Collapse ) Can you tell I am hella excited?? This has been my dream car for years!!! Granted, I will have to pay my father back quickly because I had to borrow some of the money to get it from him, and I have a loan to pay back for it, but it is manageable. It is the first car I will pay for myself, although I am very realistic in the fact that without my parents, I would not have been able to get it at all, so I am extremely thankful to them for their help in getting it. I haven't driven it but twice yet as my mother is driving it to work for about the first week to make sure it's all kosher for me to take it to work. :) I cannot wait!
That is about it from here! No major news other than the car and job. Coming up is (hopefully) Dragon*Con (even if only for a little while) and possibly Les Miz (which is coming to town). If I can get my Dad paid back, and the car (idk about that one), I am even still aiming for that trip to France for XMAS, but I may have to push that back again just one more year ;) It WILL happen! Heck, I hope it happens, and that by then I have someone to share it with because Paris without someone to share it with might depress me honestly lol.

Good news and bad news [30 Apr 2008|09:59am]
[ mood | amused ]

In good news, JapanCleve posted this and I loved and decided to follow suit. My name is Dalek on there. I WILL be in the top ten by the end of the day lolol. 11..."THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH!" (I am addicted to this stupid video lol. Yes, it's repetitive and stupid and I dance to it allll day long. Why is the...why is the...why is the...why is the...why is the...why is the rum gone?!)
Also in good news (well, I'm taking it as a good thing) the guy from my dream internship e-mailed me yesterday to give me an update and let me know that he's still reviewing candidates and will make a deicision soon. I don't REALLY know if it's a good or bad thing, but at least it's an update, which I really appreciate 'cause most often ppl leave you out to dry and you never hear back at all.

In terrible, horrible, awfully bad news: MY COMPUTER IS DYING! I think it has a bad video card. Poor thing, I abuse it enough, and it has lasted about 5 years with all that daily use so I am not surprised. In fact, I'd been preparing and moving stuff off it for a while now, but it's my precious, ya know? I don't want it to die - ESPECIALLY since I can't afford a replacement right now. Time to start selling college books like whoa to fund a new computer.
Oh yeah, and answers to the song game behind this cutCollapse )

Slow ride [12 Apr 2008|11:05pm]
[ mood | sore ]

Tomorrow ends my first official week of working at The Picture Show. I'm exhausted from standing after not having worked for months, but working hard for the money feels good at least. I still wish I could work less for more money, but I will take what I have for now. This week I am not scheduled Monday through Thursday so I will be seriously trying to find an arch job. OMG MIA nostalgia hit me hardcore today. I missed the Dolphin Mall and the Fair, which all my friends have been going to. I realised I left SOOOO many things undone after I left. I miss Enedium and how he would greet me every time I got home, and I missed studio and school and my friends that I only get to play with through online games now. I liked getting together with them and swimming or BBQing and playing games. Alas. I think it is because at work, everyone seems to be friends and a lot of them go to the same school and I am always hearing about how they get together and play games etc. If I could find a job in Miami where I would make enough to cover rent and bills and even send some up to help my mum with rent (since I owe her money and she is kinda counting on my help for that) then I would go in a heartbeat! Unfortunately, rent in Miami is RIDICULOUS, so yeah...not happening.

Everytime Amber dusts this one off, I feel the need to do it, too. GUESS THE SONGS behind this cutCollapse )

BSG Holiday Greeting
We Were Centurions
BSG Minimates Rap
David Letterman Top 10 List

And two reverse mashups of my favourite shows :)

Sim Census Part 1 Complete [15 Mar 2008|09:51pm]
Dunno WHY it took me so long, but I finally went through and wrote down every single sim living in my neighbourhoods and sub-neighbourhoods that I have ever created in The Sims 2. The Sim Census Project is something I've been wanting to do for a long time, and at last the paper portion is complete! MWAHAHAHA. Now, I can enjoy getting my creative juices flowing with some fun typing and analysing of this data. Perhaps most ppl would not find it enjoyable, but I want to know things like "What's the most popular name amongst my Sims?", "Which are the largest families (well, besides my main, which I KNOW to be huge!), and "What is the male-female ratio?". Something I didn't do is check for racial categories. That'd be just wayyyy too much work.

I'm really hoping this is a breakthrough with my creative personal self really. It's been a long time since I wrote or conglanged or concultured, and sitting down and forcing myself to write by hand a couple of times recently has really helped me get my gears turning, so while some might see this whole thing as a waste of time, it has its purpose.

RIP Heath Ledger [22 Jan 2008|05:57pm]
I was driving down the road when they announced his passing on 99X and my instant reaction was disbelief. I thought it had to be a joke. Sadly, it wasn't. Although he was most known for Brokeback Mountain, I suppose, I will always remember him in A Knight's Tale. That movie never fails to make me smile especially at the dance scene. Farewell, Sir Ulrich von Lichtenstein of Gelderland; you left us too soon.

Physics test today followed by career expo, French essay, French class, a birthday party, hopefully decent sleep and work again :(

The first bit is the only part that really scares me lol. I studied a lot. I reviewed old tests, and I am STILL worried I won't know how to do anything. :'(

I had a lol moment by myself earlier. I was having some mad heartburn, and I took a tums. A little later, I still had heartburn and pulled out another one and literally out loud said "Maybe this is what I need. Another one. Hell, who knows what I need?!" and then I looked at the tums roll in my hand and it said S E-X! lol Talk about the Universe trying to tell you something haha. I guess I had ripped the TUM and the S was left and the E-X for extra strength.

Oh, and since Amber pointed out I seem to be forgetting to answer some parts to questions, I went back and realised, I never said who I wanted for a dinner guest. So, as an amendment to my answer for that question I'd say as of right now, I'd choose Zachary Quinto ;)

BSG: Razor Flashbacks [23 Oct 2007|12:55pm]
Are making me SUPER stoked!! I think they did an excellent job of picking a guy who was able to pull off a young Adama ridiculo-well! Seriosuly, I wonder if they didn't dub in EJO's voice 'cause it's uncanny at times.
